I built Wicked Hues for people who have never quite fit. Curl type, aesthetic, identity, or just the vibe of a loud assembly-line salon that treats you like the next thing on a list.

My name is Anna. Friends call me Andy. I'm a curly hair and vivid color specialist in Mid-City New Orleans, a hair science nerd in the most literal sense of that phrase, and the person who will tell you the truth about why your routine isn't working without making you feel stupid for having tried it.

I graduated from the Aveda Institute in 2014 and have spent every year since collecting training nobody required me to get: DevaCut, Rezo Cut, Ouidad, Eufora Training Academy, and anything else that looked like it would help me solve the problems other stylists were writing off as impossible.

My Philosophy

All hair is hair. It got labeled difficult, too much, or unprofessional because the industry spent decades declining to learn how it actually works and then blamed the hair for the results. Your curls are behaving exactly the way curls behave. The gap has always been in the training.

Yes, I'm a Nerd.

Before I ever picked up shears, I was in an anime cover band. My first cosplay was Fullmetal Alchemist. I have spent a lot of weekends at conventions and I have strong opinions about which Doctor is the best one. I was raised on Star Wars and converted to Star Trek as an adult, and I stand by it. I will lose an entire evening to Myst or Tomb Raider. Most nights I'm playing 7 Days to Die with my five roommates while my cats supervise badly.

When I'm not doing that, I'm somewhere in a Carl Jung rabbit hole, or whatever philosophy thread opened up that week. I like to read tarot for my friends. I'm designing a personal deck based on EarthBound, a 1995 SNES game set in a satirized suburban America that turns genuinely strange and psychological by the end.

Nerds figured something out about hair long before the beauty industry did: changing how you look is how a lot of us work out who we are. Cosplay is that. So is a first buzz cut, a color that finally matches how your brain feels on the inside, a haircut that makes you actually like what you look like in the mirror. I have been on both sides of that chair.

The obsessive part is also useful. Six scientific papers on scalp yeast before writing one blog post is the same instinct that works out why your curl pattern collapses on one side, or why the product half of TikTok swears by is quietly wrecking your hair.

Practically speaking: you can talk to me for three hours about any of this, or you can put your headphones in and say nothing at all. Both are a completely normal appointment here. The Experience Customization Form you get the night before tells me a lot about what kind of appointment to set up for you.

My Values

Ethical & Sustainable Beauty

I chose every product and color line for what's in them and for what isn't. No harsh sulfates, no parabens, no artificial fragrance. Your hair shouldn't cost the planet, and it shouldn't cost you your health either.

Your Comfort Matters

My suite is built so you can actually relax and hear your own thoughts. No salon chaos, no assembly line of assistants, no phone ringing off the hook. Silent appointments are always an option, and you never have to explain why you want one.

Honest Recommendations

I'll tell you the truth about what you're doing at home that's making the problem worse, and I'll explain why I'm recommending something instead of asking you to take my word for it.

Education-First Approach

Nobody should leave my chair unsure how to recreate the look at home, or still stuck with the exact problem they walked in with.

Gender Neutral Pricing

You're charged for the work, not for assumptions about who you are. Gender-affirming cut, a vivid color that finally matches your brain, or just a space where nobody makes it weird. No assumptions, no asterisks.
